SeeClickFix and Extraordinaries Win at WeMedia
Posted by Allison Fine on March 2, 2009
Two terrific new efforts, SeeClickFix and Extraordinaries won the Pitch It! Awards at the WeMedia conference — and $25,000!
SeeClickFix encourages citizens to report on issues that they see everyday in their neighborhoods and communities. See a street light out or pothole that needs fixing – point and click it on the maps and stay engaged to ensure that your local officials fix the problem.
We’ve to micro-finance and micro-blogging and micro-philanthropy — now we have micro-volunteering! Extraordinaries encourages people to use the little bits of free time they have during their day to do good. Using your smart phone you can log onto the Extraordinaries site from wherever you are and you can translate a microenterprise loan on Kiva, or post a comment on a blog, or tag some photos.
