Tweeting for Children
Posted by Allison Fine on July 13, 2009
The Christian Children’s Fund has changed its name to ChildFund International. To celebrate their new, well, let’s call it “christening”, they will be giving gifts of agricultural love and hope from the organization’s gift catalog for every 200 Twitter followers @childfund receives.
These efforts will directly benefit children in Gambia, Zambia, Kenya and Ethiopia. There is no cap on on followers, and the offer will continue through July 27.
So, go onto Twitter and follow @childfund today!

Allison, Thanks so much for writing about our Twitter campaing. To let you and others know, we have reached out to donors who are funding this campaign. This is above the amount they usually give. This Twitter campaign isn’t about raising money. It’s about raising awareness of the work that we do for deprived, excluded and vulnerable children in the 31 countries where we work. We want followers to see firsthand how the money can make a difference. So as we reach the thresholds we’ll purchase the items and then send them to the countries. We’ll get photos and videos and share the stories of those who received the gifts. Thanks again!

Excellent points, David, thanks so much for clarifying — and for doing what you’re doing! Good luck, please let me know how it goes.
